This Thursday April 7th, during the Drupal Gov Days,  the AS-E (Agence de Stimulation Economique) and K Company presented the Walloon Enterprise Portal (WEP), foreseen for January 2012.

The WEP aims to guide companies located in Wallonia through the walloon institutions that could provide them with services, advices and investment aids.
 

Over the years, this project needs to be evolutive. Technological choices need therefore to be aligned with this long-term vision of the portal, but bring also some interesting challenges.

As Drupal 7 were launched in January 2011, actually at the same time that the first analysis of the WEP, we were in a bind when we had to decide the version of the framework (6 or 7, 7 or 6?) we wanted to work with...

The AS-E, that handles the project on behalf of the Walloon Region, has exposed to the eGov Community the technological and philosophical reasons of its choice, Drupal 7, and the daily challenges she's now facing.

The big audience seemed very attentive and the questions session was interesting too... even if everybody was probably hungry...:-)
